WAR

Tapestry on frame made of silk, organza, cotton, taffeta, velvet, beads, buttons, diamond, polyester and nylon yarn, fiberglass drone cables, crystal, carpet, camouflage nets, LED lighting, emergency radio with dynamo. 252x170cm, 2026

A tapestry on a wooden and aluminum frame, displaying war and genocide of the last couple years, based on news photos and photos shared by vloggers online.

There’s an interactive element to this tapestry: with the sling of an emergency radio, you can light up parts of the tapestry. Is it the sunrise, or is it another bombing? When will it ever end? Will it ever end?

With the tapestry comes a map legend which explains all the elements used. A map legend in Dutch can be found on the bottom of this page.
