My work The Radium Portrait, which is part of the Covra art collection, got featured in the book ’40 jaar Covra’.

The Radium Portrait is a project where I made a portrait of factory worker Grace Fryer out of thousands of radium watch hands, watch hands that Fryer and her colleagues had to manufacture during the 1910’s and 1920’s. The radium paint was very poisonous, yet the workers had to point the brushes with their lips and thereby ingesting large amounts of radium.
